2009 Winners
Hugh Baird College
Hugh Baird College have been assessed against the matrix Standard in 2003 and 2007; in 2008 they decided to broaden the scope of their Accreditation across the College.
With the support of a Registered matrix Adviser, they developed a quality action plan based on the matrix Standard which was presented across the College to all departments. The action plan continues to be monitored weekly and monthly to inform service delivery.
In particular, the College focused on the needs of those students ‘at risk’. The matrix Standard enabled them to clearly identify what was wanted to be achieved. By looking at the IAG delivered across the College, through the focus of the embedded service, the College put into place support mechanisms to ensure early identification of support needs and a fast track referral to a broader range of support services. The Health and Wellbeing programme ensures effective and joined up referral to other agencies to ensure learners are given the most appropriate support.
These processes are supported by an electronic tutorial support package which has been adapted to reflect the needs of the College and learners.
