2007 Winners
pathways2work at Family Mosaic
pathways2work is the employment arm of the Family Mosaic housing association, which manages 20,000 homes across London and Essex. As a key part of Family Mosaic’s Community Development activities, pathways2work provides IAG to help tenants into work and training – an important aspect of the housing association’s wider social remit.
The matrix Standard was used to build up the service from its early days, and by the time of its matrix Accreditation in March 2007 it was attracting attention at national level in the social housing sector for its outstanding IAG practice.
The Judges applauded the service’s resourceful and holistic approach to creating new options and choices for clients.
It developed a volunteer placement programme, to offer tenants job experience, and began a partnership with its own suppliers and subcontractors to create work experience opportunities. Internal development of tenant volunteers then led to the creation of progression routes into employment within the organisation, which has increased motivation for learning amongst residents.
