2007 Winners
Connexions Cornwall and Devon Ltd
Connexions Cornwall and Devon Limited first achieved the matrix Standard in 2004 for its IAG provision to adults, and by early 2007 it had successfully extended its matrix Accreditation to encompass the whole organisation, including its work with young people.
The Judges were impressed by its innovative, proactive approach to customer feedback, which has transformed the way it engages different client groups. This was considered exemplary in creating a truly integrated service for both Adults and Young People.
A campaign, known as Help Us Get It Right, was focused on finding out from parents and carers what they needed from the service, and what improvements could be made. This was very much a two-way partnership with nextstep, bringing reciprocal benefits to the clients of both services. The organisation then set up a ‘best practice’ group which brought together parents and experienced IAG practitioners to create an improvement plan in response to the feedback.
They then successfully developed this concept to seek feedback from businesses on employing young people, exploring in particular transition issues for 16-18 year-olds.
